Travel and Tours

A standard tour program was arranged for conference attendees wishing to explore the Elazığ region and the historic Harput area beyond the conference schedule.

Evening Excursion — Sivrice & Hazar Lake

Beginning in the evening from 16:30, attendees departed from the partner hotels and traveled by coach toward Sivrice and Hazar Lake. The route traced the lakeshore to take in the panoramic views, followed by dinner at Mavi Göl Restaurant with live music.

Historic Harput & Surrounding Sites

The program included guided visits to Harput Castle, Buzluk Cave, and Meryem Ana Church, offering an overview of the area's cultural and architectural heritage. Meals and transportation were arranged as part of the standard package.

Tour Operator

Ground arrangements were coordinated through CMG Cuma Tourism, a local tour operator providing the standard excursion program listed on this page.

Conference attendees are invited to extend their experience beyond the lecture halls by exploring the cultural and natural heritage of the Elazığ region. The scheduled tour program offers a chance to discover the historic Harput area, including its ancient castle and surrounding landmarks, providing a meaningful break from the academic sessions. Evening excursions along the shores of Hazar Lake allow participants to unwind in a scenic setting, with opportunities for quiet reflection or casual conversation against the backdrop of the setting sun. These thoughtfully arranged outings foster informal networking among scholars and engineers while showcasing the rich history and landscapes of eastern Turkey, complementing the conference's focus on innovation with a deeper appreciation of place and tradition.
